Therapy Intensives for Inner Child Healing in New York and New Jersey
Time, space, and care for the child within who’s still holding it all
“I know where it comes from... but it still hurts.”
Maybe you’ve done the work. You understand your childhood story. You can name the patterns. You’ve even started connecting with your inner child. But still—something in you feels unfinished. Stuck. Tender. Unseen.
Sometimes, the younger parts of us don’t need more explanation. They need time, attention, and space to be felt, not rushed through in a 50-minute session.
That’s what an inner child healing intensive offers…
a deep, focused container to reconnect with the younger parts of you who still long to be heard, held, and honored.
What Is an Inner Child Healing Intensive?
An intensive is a longer-format therapy session (90 minutes, 2–3 hours, or a full day) that allows us to move more slowly, go more deeply, and stay with the emotional and somatic material that often gets cut short in traditional therapy.
This is not talk therapy stretched out—it’s a deeply experiential space where we follow the emotional thread at the pace your nervous system allows.
We may work with:
Inner child and parts work (informed by IFS and developmental theory)
Drama therapy and symbolic play (accessing story, voice, image, and role)
Brainspotting to process where words don’t reach
Somatic tracking and mindful presence to foster internal safety
Ritual, creative expression, or reparenting processes, as needed when helpful
Who Is This For?
These intensives are for adults who:
Have already begun inner child work but feel interrupted by the limits of standard therapy sessions
Long for healing that goes beyond insight—into emotional release, repair, and reconnection
Carry old shame, fear, or grief that feels stuck in the body
Struggle with people-pleasing, chronic self-doubt, or “shrinking” under pressure
Want to work with symbolic, embodied, or creative approaches, not just words
Are ready to care for the parts of themselves that had to hold too much, too young
May not need or want ongoing therapy but feel called to a focused, one-time or short-term experience
What Might Happen in an Intensive?
Each session is shaped by what you’re holding and what you’re ready for. Some moments may feel raw or surprising. Others, quiet and spacious. There is no one “right” way for this work to unfold.
You might:
Meet a younger part of yourself and offer them something they never received
Externalize a critical voice that has lived inside you for years—and practice responding differently
Grieve what was lost or never had the chance to be
Engage in role play or image work to transform a familiar internal dynamic
Let the body speak what words cannot
Leave feeling softened, resourced, or newly connected to your inner world
